Blo[x] advocates the integration of small technologies with the practical learning tools of block play for children in their developmental ages from (3 to 5 year olds). Blo[x] is a series of cubes; made from wood, each set implements and reveals a different technique in developmental learning for young children and engages the senses (seeing, hearing, and touching). Each demonstrates the use of traditional form of block play in addition to technological validation for positive reinforcement. 

Building with blocks provides one of the most valuable learning experiences available for young children. Block play stimulates learning in all domains of developmental, intellectual, physical, and social-emotional languages. Gradually the use of technology in children’s toys is to impact the practices of learning to match the change in times. This mini-thesis highlights ways of applying technological methods to children’s toys from the design and technology perspective.
